It's not that I can't get them right. Besides, my cell phone updates automatically, as does my alarm clock that's controlled by radio signals with Naval Observatory time. But changing my body is always a hassle. :fury:

I can fly across 2 time zones either direction, and quickly enough adjust to the new time - in their enviroment, with their schedules, but when I have to do a 1 hour change in my own home - it'll take weeks. :upset:

I woke this morning at my normal time according to the sun, just one hour earlier according to the clock. I'm not a morning person, but there I was ;-0

I wish we'd do daylight savings time and just stay there...

I think I am too happy and well-adjusted or something. I always look forward to time changes, whether they are daylight-savings-related, or travel-related. Does that make me odd? :)

I loved having the extra hour this morning. And believe me, after the weekend I had, I needed it.

It only takes me a couple weeks to get used to it. I hate the short days...period. I get that winter/short day depression after a couple months. But I like the winter weather. Go figure!!! :D

I think Daylight Savings Time has outlived its usefullness. In fact, it probably did a long time ago. I would rather see us go back to Standard Time all year long. I see nothing wrong with early dusks. In fact, they can be quite nice. As for the winter, the temps are going to be cool/cold whether the sun is out or not. And in the summer, we wouldn't have to wait as long for the sun to go down to do night dives. :)

Just my tuppence worth...

I see no need for light before 8:AM. Rather than getting light at 6:AM and dark at 6:PM I think we should adjust the clocks so that it gets light at 8:AM and dark at 8:PM.

are thinking of starting it again - I hope so! Why? Because I get home an hour later in winter as I usually have to hang around to talk to the people in the UK.....

peterw once bubbled...

Maybe you don't need light at 8AM but it helps others. Or it may work out the other way around for some, they may prefer it to be dark later.

Some people start work VERY EARLY and for some having light the earlier the better. Which is better? an aircraft mechanic working on that early flight in the dark with a questionable flashlight or working on it with the sun out?

it doesn't really make much of a difference to me. The only thing is it is always a bit of a shock when the clocks go back because one evening I am playing hockey and it is bright when we finish training and the next night the flood lights are on for the whole time and it is pitch black by the time we finish!

Getting up in the dark is not something that bothers me. I have done it regularly most of my life for one reason or another, going home in the dark can sometimes be a bit depressing but only if I am having a bad week.
