I work shift work, and its usually dark when I get off of work, and dark when I get to work... for half the year. I love th summer months, becuase after working 12 hours, I still have "1 hour of summer" that I can stil claim as my own for that day. Daylight until 9pm? you bet I'd love that year round.

And an added benefit of that would be, when I came off of night shift, it'd still be dark, and i can fool my body into sleeping better when i go to sleep and its still dark.

Was DST brought into the country like BST (British Summer Time) was introduced due to the war effort? All very much after electricity was introduced, but it was in use to maximise the daylight time during the 2nd WW when factories were working to produce ammo for the troops. This is the reason i was always told that there was a change in time, but that it was no redundant.

Some people have said that they are starting to wake up in the light after the change, have you changed your clocks correctly??? Last week i woke up at 6.30, just as it was getting light, this week that 6.30 is now 7.30 and so i wake up an hour before sunrise to rise at 6.30.

i LOVE regular time... i HATE daylight savings time.

that "early" one hour really screws up my bio-clock or something. i never get used
to it. i can't fall asleep before midnight, regular time (or i wake up again around 4:00 a.m. and can't sleep), so on DST, i am usually up until 12:30 or so, don't fall
asleep until after 1:00, and don't get more than six hours of sleep per night.

it's just not enough for me! i go through the entire summer dragging, groggy, in a
bad mood, and stepping on cats I don't see on my way to the kitchen.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

(thank you)

Just to confuse matters, my roster for work is always printed in zulu time.....the staff then have to change it depending on what time of year it is!!!

Not looking forward to the day when I get it wrong and turn up for work an hour late or an hour early!!!!

Just look at it this way:

When the end of the world happens, and the deity of your choosing decends (or ascends) from where ever it is he or she comes from we can proudly say "No, no. Not yet, we've been saving all this time." ;)
