Hello every one

I desperately need help

I just moved from Texas to Florida (i arrived in Florida today), and i stop in Pensacola where i rent a hotel room for a week.
I am a Senior CNC Machinist (really good one) but i have no idea what part of Florida i may find a job as a machinist.
If anybody have some informations on this domain or any advice, i well appreciate.

Thanks and hope somebody to help me.

Daniel

P.S. If anybody need more info. just ask for. I am working on my resume right now and when i finish it i well attach it to the thread.

Appreciate again

With the shipyards and industry in Jacksonville, you might try there. Cost of living is much cheaper than south florida. Welcome to Florida!

Here is a large local company that does the pneumatics for Disney. They have a LARGE CNC shop! I think they do everything from AL to exotic materials. They are located just behind the airport off Waldo Road in Gainesville. Good Luck! Welcome to Fl! One of my brother-in-law's father works there. He loves it.

Welcome to Floorida!!! :mostlysun
AS a diver consider Tampa Bay area carefully/cautiously. I :crafty: t'll place you conveniently 100-150 miles from all the "REAL dive sites" in Florida. (Unless you are a cave diver)

You may want to consider Lockheed Martin Orlando. They have a large frabracation facility right off of International Drive on Sand Lake Road. You can look for job openings at www.lmco.com

Best of luck and welcome to Florida!

Lee

Voiculescu,
I worked for Starrett Tools for many years and worked in the Florida territory with the area rep in that area calling on the local machining facilities.

If you intend to stay in the CNC field, then you'll find most of your production machine shops will be in central and southern Florida. But if you have the capability of taking a hunk of metal and making one piece from the prints, then you may want to consider the ship yards.

Put in a call to Rick Marble, regional manager with the L.S. Starrett Co. up in Athol, Ma and ask him if he can make any recommendations or put you in touch with the current area rep.
