depends how bad it is. if its seams, you can reweld them if you have access to the equipment. you just end up making it slightly smaller

pinholes, you can go to town with the aquaseal and see how it holds up

if the exhaust elbow fitting is the issue, there was someone selling a DIY kit to replace with a larger style modular fitting that was originally designed for jacket bcds

If you really want it "just right", you could roll your own;

You buried the lede: your target cost is about $35.

Nice! I'm also an aviation enthusiast and I've got a lot of respect for those experimental aviators that scratch-built their airplanes. Still some out there doing it but it doesn't seem to be many

In a similar way I've respect for you and those great looking DIY wings!
I'm fairly handy and mechanically inclined, and I would totally be up for doing something like if I only had the time!!

updating my comparables list
I checked in with DGX about their option listed as out of stock. Basically, it seems that they've been held up by fears of tariffs against the chicom makers of the parts. They might get some in stock by the end of July.... but that's cutting it too close for my trip...so crossing that one off.
For a similar reason I must also cross off the alibaba options
...although I supppose I could dive my old zeagle. I did jury-rig up a smaller new Zeagle bladder on it. I'd need to test dive it in the pool, but it would probably do ok.... but I don't really want to!

I'm also adding a few others

For a point of reference, I measured my old Halcyon wing.
18-3/4" wide at it's widest point at the shoulders x approx 27-1/4.
I measured 21.3 pounds of freshwater to fill it.
By volume that measured out to be approx 7.8L. I did'n't get into the weeds of measuring tempurature of the water, but yeah, it's right around 18# to #20 displacement

My cam band slots are set approx 5.293 inches on center...roughly 5-5/16 inches on center
and the mounting bolt holes looks to be about 10-3/4 inches on center. That's standard, right?

Something else to consider is this New! Piranha 30lb Bright PINK Donut Wing 2 Left Right Now! , Piranha Dive Shop - at $230.

Don’t say I never helped you with the fun part.

Erik

ETA: By the way, that Mares wing is one butt ugly thing. Just sayin.
I have questions about the Piranha wing.... Like why do the specs include a colorectal tube? Alternative inflation? Please explain! Lol

some folks get it. My wife doesn't. Drives her nuts when I research things nad overthink them. To me I guess it's a way to prolong the journey, but also to learn and improve along the way.
I could just knee-jerk and buy just any old thing...then take it for a dive...and not give it any other thought before or after....but if I did that, what would I be doing now while I drink my morning coffee? I suppose I could just drink my coffee and not do or think about anything else.... but yeah, that seems a little boring to me!
And yeah, Mares has a unique look for sure.
Like why do the specs include a colorectal tube?
I saw that very same description yesterday while poking around online looking for other options. I forgot if it was amazon or alibaba or someplace else...but there were a ton of those exact type of wings listed all with the same horrible chinese-english translation and with that same adjective for the corrugated hose.

On amazon some are listed as for use for snorkeling. I got a kick out of that too!

Ok, I obviously didn’t read the description, as you just made me spit out my coffee!! And, can I say, I hope they’re not talking about the corrugated hose, cause that sucker’s BIG!

The bungee inside the VDH Argonaut doesn't do anything to get my cockles cockling

It's an eighteen, so where's the difference

Can you give a head-to-head comparision between it and some of the others....for general warm water recreational dives?

They're brilliant, and no matter what I do, my wings dive like I dive, thats what they do, that's how they dive

even down to fourty or fifty metres in Hawiian shirt and shorts

Alibaba 30#
