I asked my LDS owner about buying a different mask, I told him I need to be able to see Down more as I can't really see my BCD. All he said was well theres a trade off you can either see up or down but not both. He didn't recommend any certain mask or anything...sooooo I'll ask here

Cressi makes a mask called the Big Eyes in which the lenses are tear drop shaped and set at an angle which, at least by their claim, makes it easier to look down. I think a few other manufacturers have copied it and produced similar designs. It didn't fit my face, so I never got a chance to see if it really worked.

Atomics low-volume frameless? (its what I'm wearing in the picture on the left) the downpointing V-shape that alot of masks have nowadays coupled with the glass being a lil' closer to your face gives (imo) a very nice field of vision, as well as a great seal and easy clearing ability (should you need it).

What's so interesting about your BCD?

I second the Atomics frameless. I have the same mask in black. I traded my first one in so I too could see my 'interesting' BCD :D

haha, As a new diver I found uncomfortable not being able to see my own body. Now that I have some dives under my belt it's not such a big deal. Having a bigger field of vision is nice though.

What I would recommend here is a intricate set of mirrors designed to see 360 degrees around your body... now after you do this you must of course call me.. so I can laugh histerically at you...:rofl3: just kidding... I understand what you mean I like the clear sherwood magnum 6, it has 2 windows looking down and 2 on the side... It had great peripheal vision plus you could look down easily... The cost is good and it was easy to clear, I recently switched to a sherwood magnum ex... why? I don't know... I just like it...

I LOVE my Cressi Big Eyes. No problem seeing my gauges, just a simple glance down.

dump valves ,pockets, clips. and this one time a octopus shot out of alittle cave and attacked my BCD, I had to pull the tennacles off and it would been easier if could of see them.
Just kidding bout the octopus ( watched a show last night):D
