I've never been a fan of sub-ducks or tank-bangers. I know...I know...they have their place, especially with students, but I just don't like them.
Last year, my husband and I dove Cozumel, and some the folks on our boat were from France. One of the female divers had an underwater signaling device that sounded like jingle bells. Light, non-intrusive, easily recognizable. I never asked her about it, but thought about those jingle bells again and again after our trip. Chuck, bless his heart, tried to make one for me out of PVC pipe and jingle bells, but it clacked more than it jingled.
Does anyone know where to get an underwater signaling device that jingles instead of one that clacks or bangs? I've searched the Internet with no avail. The closest I can find is the reefnet rattle, but it really doesn't sound the same at all.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have!
