And that is why I'm comfortable carrying my Glock. :D It's always ready to go, but doesn't have a hair trigger. :D I may not be able to shoot a 2" group with a Glock, but then most bad guys are wider than 2"

.... plus the Glock has 6 more rounds than the 1911. :D Just in case I miss with the first few. Nah.

Beretta.

"Hair trigger" - you mean the 1911 has a great trigger, while Glocks have wretched triggers.

I'm comfortable carrying all the guns I own. I'm not afraid of any of them. I'm not afraid to carry them. If I was, I wouldn't own them.

Yes, the Kimber has a fabulous trigger. The Glock trigger does what it was designed to do. And remember, a Kimber shoots single-action, Glock shoots double-action. I've never known anyone who chose a Glock for accurate target shooting.

No, I'm not afraid of the Kimber. It's a pleasure to shoot. But in a SHTF situation, where there may be lots of bystanders and I may be pooping my pants because of what is going down, I prefer to have a firmer trigger that ensures a discharge is intentional. I have no doubt I can place my shots on the intended target. But if the tension is high, and the adrenaline is flowing, I want to be sure it is me, not the adrenaline, pulling the trigger. That's all I was saying.

And that is why there are many different guns and many different trigger pulls.

Personal preference means just that........personal preference.

D, does your Kimber have a really light trigger?

I had (have, except my son has it now) a S&W 629 in .44 mag. Beautiful gun. I purchased for hunting. Had gunsmith take the single action poundage down to about 2.5#. About the time you were thinking about pulling the trigger, it was already down range. Worked great for hunting. A .44 mag will take down deer. :D

I had to go there, just because Liberal and Gun Club are two competing concepts, never expected to be found in the same sentence

As I am a Conservative Democrat, myself, I am not sure what your point was.
Being a Liberal Independent myself, which probably is not all that relevant to your post or mine. And as I have no interest in engaging in any kind of political debate.
"My point" was only that by definition... liberal and gun club may not actually be "two competing concepts" and therefor sans the stereotype, could easily be found in "the same sentence" which is of course obvious by the fact that the Liberal Gun Club even exists ....

By definition: club|kləb
noun
1 : an association or organization dedicated to a particular interest or activity:

By definition: liberal |ˈlib(&#601:wink:rəl|
adjective
1 open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values: they have more liberal views toward marriage and divorce than some people.
• favorable to or respectful of individual rights and freedoms: liberal citizenship laws.
• (in a political context)favoring maximum individual liberty in political and social reform: a liberal democratic state.

Now much more germane to this conversation is the irony, that while being fairly liberal and progressive in most of life, I am rather conservative in my idea of a personal defense carry weapon. That being an 8 shot 22 mag double action revolver.
Very small and lightweight. Very easy to control. Not likely to penetrate much further than the first initial strike point. Requires a definite trigger pull. Less likely to be accidentally discharged in an intense situation.

I'd like to visit the liberal gun club. Would be interesting to watch them shooting electric rechargeable guns at granola targets.

Now that is funny :cool2:
