i looked at that pic of your finger. i am so sorry that happend to you. you are a very strong person to have dealt with that on your own.

I surprise my own self sometimes.:eyebrow:

I am all packed and heading back to Cozumel...the scene of the crime!

I also packed my squashed suitcase with clothes and shoes, including the now infamous flip flops, to give away to the locals. Don't worry, seems to be the footwear of choice around here. I included my hotel water bottles, shampoos, soaps, arm sling, bandages, antiseptics etc in the mix. Going to find a local church to donate it.

And it is one less thing for me to deal with!:crafty:

And the journey continues....updates later!

Mary, you should know that your stories are helping the Cozumel economy. Reading of your exploits put a desire in my head for another trip to Coz prior to Kauai in August, so at the end of this month a couple of friends and I are taking a 9 day Cozumel trip. The two of them are currently non divers, but have jumped into a certification class this weekend so they can do their open water referrals in Coz! Probably with Martin, though I am still exploring those options.

So, the cozumel economy has received a few thousand reasons to thank you for your tales of woe. It is a shame we will arive after you have returned but the upside to that is I will not need to tell my friends to pack crash and safety gear to wear when they meet you. I was wondering how I was going to fit a full set of hockey gear inside my scuba bag anyway......

:) Enjoy the rest of your trip...in relative safety please. Keep up the narrative though...at this point the book needs a happy ending.

Okay...was able to deposit squishy suitcase with lots of goodies inside, to the local church down the street from my hotel. It was fun to do. Of course it had the treacherous flip flops...I figure the locals are used to navigating uneven concrete better than myself. Although I do wear flip flops in winter in Colorado!! I find skating on ice with them a breeze. My pedicured toes rebel against being confined to shoes.

I am now on the lovely, tranquil, breezy patio of Blue Angel resort. I am smitten with the place. Every room has an ocean view. Feels like I am staying at someones CASAVILLA. They greeted me with an alcoholic beverage of my choice. So, I opted of course for the Margarita.

Getting ready to meet more SB'ers at Casa Denis tonight.

BTW: I was way to early for the ferry. They did not have a 1PM ferry...had a 2PM ferry. I paid a tourismo amigo 50 pesos to watch my stuff while I went shopping in Playa...again! Yes, the people here are so berry, berry, nice!

I was a bit embarrassed by some very large American women who were in Starbucks. They were asking very loudly...so loudly it could qualify as yelling...if there ice was safe to drink. They were assured it was, several times. Yet they kept baggering the poor amigo behind the counter. I was there to use the Internet service while waiting for ferry. The women were truly obnoxious to say the least.

I finally had enough and went over and said, nicely, "I have been here over 3 weeks, I think you will be just fine drinking a bevarage with the ice". They took my word for it. Secretely I was hoping that somehow, someway, Montezuma's revenge would prevail. Tee Hee!

Apparently they are staying at some Mega obnoxious super resort in Playa Del Carmen. All inclusive buffets, I am sure. I think they need to find their way back to the cruise ship world.

Okay, now I am being bad!

Don,

I have so fallen in love with this part of Mexico...I will be back, mark my words.
I have two girls that I want to show this part of Mexico to...so I had to save some adventures for the next trips over.

I love it here. I really love it enough to try and retire here in the near future.
So, will be taking intensive Spanish classes when I get back home.
Mary

Yes I fell in love with the place on my first visit and haven't taken holidays nywhere else since. Have never regretted decision to buy a house on the island. I retire in about a year and will live there winters. (Saskatchewan summers are fabulous. Winters - not so much.)

Nah, you are not being bad, you're just using your astute powers of observation. :)

Oh, boy, it is a bear climbing up the ladder on the boat today. Having a gimp right hand is a true handicap! Diving is the easy part. Place on hand that was cut open and stitched...no problemo. Swollen knuckles and painfully stretched, dislocated ligaments and joints...real problemo.

I can tell I am in for some long term rehab when I get back home. Although...I think Q. Roo is home now!

I swear the gods have it out for me. They are pouring concrete on the second level and quickly laid out a precarious teeter totter of a board no wider than a gymnast beam, for us to walk on to get to our rooms. I was the first guinea pig to try it out. When I stepped on the board the end came flying up. Luckily one of the workers caught it with his foot before I made a permanent imprint with my face in the Blue Angel cement.

Timing is everything!

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

I am not telling! You have to take your chances like everyone else.

Mary, when you get tired of the medical field you should look into a career with OSHA. You can be a site inspector...if you can safely walk through the site and survive, their clearly aren't any safety concerns. I feel like there should be a kid following you around with a pillow, just waiting to thrust it wherever your next fall occurs. Behind him...naturally...should be the ambulance.

Take care...another injury and I swear I'm calling guinness world record people....and an excorcist.
