I prefer sidemount. It's easier on my shoulders. I had to try a twinset, of course I get the tek3's and the xtx50's. They're great! Backmount twinset isn't, for me. Reaching those valves, ouch!
I ask myself, can I use these great regulators, these tek3 1st stages in sidemount?? No one really had any definitive experience, that I saw. So I tried it.
Yes, yes you can. And it was great. My only incident was;
My katana has the inflator on the left, the inflator hose I used was a 21 inch long LP inflator hose that ended up looping in the middle before plugging into the inflator. This loop, this twist, eventually twisted that hose loose on the reg.
I didnt initially "wrench" it on installation, just hand tight to the reg. Once I gave it a gentle torque. It worked fine everything was tight!
So go for it. Do your tek3 sidemounting. It works!
