I broke my forearm in 3 places and shattered my elbow. And severely sprained my wrist. My right arm is full of titanium, cobalt and screws. Some minor cuts to my face that only took a few stitches to fix. I don't go near ladders anymore.

Oh...goodness and ouch. What is the prognosis for full use of your arm and elbow?
Bless your heart. I suddenly feel so much better.

Also, just tried to open a coke bottle with my right hand. Still impossible. Had to resort to Left hand and teeth method been using for last 3 weeks.

Ouch. How's your dental insurance? :D

Hey all...Hey Sallye...you must be missing me and Leslief!!

I AM missing you guys! And my best DM buddy is headed to Merida for a week or so on a family medical problem. So I may be lost tomorrow...
Or maybe not... :eyebrow: I just hope she's OK and he gets back in a week - not two!

I guess I spent too much time in braces to consider using my teeth to open bottles. I always used my thighs and my left hand when my right was out of commission... Know how it feels to be ready for PT...

Two pairs of mated nurse sharks today. One pair was HUGE!!! Three other singles.

Haven't been to Vortex since AOW in 1990, I think.

Hey Sallye...

Two pairs of mated nurse sharks...kewl!! Keep us informed of your sightings out there in Cozumel. I have great photos from Villa Aldora of the ocean. You lucky girl.

Lucky, yes, and appreciate it, too. Actually wimped out on a 2-tank this afternoon. I had 10 minutes to regroup, and it was a resort course boat...
I'd been thinking a little earlier in the day that I was tired, so the facts added up. No time to regroup, a bit tired, not Jack Sparrow leading the dive (and yes, that would've tipped the scales and made me go)... Had a lovely nap of a couple of hours. Now trying to get the gang to go to dinner at Alberto's...

Up to 91 dives for the summer!

Did I mention the large-eyed toadfish on Saturday night's dive? Still seeing wondrous stuff, big and small...

Good gravy Sallye...91 dives for the summer. You go girl! You deserved a break today.
I know you are seeing some awesome stuff. I saw all the pictures on your computer that you never post. Great stuff on there. You need to brag a little by showing them off to the world or scubaboard.

Keep us posted. Miss you! I start working Night shift in the ER with gimp right hand Friday night. Should be a busy night at the hospital.

Surgeon thinks I'll get back about 80%.

80%...I am sure you have already grieved and come to terms with that missing 20%. Just go diving soon as you can on your island of Cozumel, that other 20% will be there in spirit! Sorry we didn't get to cross paths this time around.

In Hawaii...we have a saying "Lucky you live Hawaii"...so now I will say
"Lucky you live Cozumel"

That's very nice. I'm a glass half full kind of person so no I have never grieved the loss. Still working hard on the physio to get as much back as I possibly can. And tell myself all the time "I guess it could have been worse." You probably see a lot of those possibilities in the ER. I'm sure we sould have got along well so if we're ever on the island at the same time, you should come over for a beer.
