It was pretty easy, relitively, I dive. 3/2 in FL took a little ingenuity but took about an hour to glue, and 24hrs to cure then it is ready to dive...

Which DR are u diving? Is it a transpac?

You said u had little rings all around the "plate" is there one near the bottom? Right below tank, near your butt?

Sorry Letterboy, posts were flying so fast, I missed this one of yours.

Yes, there is a small D ring at the very bottom of the plate. Tell me again what my options are for that D ring. Either a crotch strap or spool holder?

Thanks,
Mary

Ya'll are too darn good!! My fingers are not as blazingly fast as they were a few weeks ago.

Nice buzzard photog!

its ok, I was only driving 65 in the rain while typing that on my BB :)

I would get a crotch strap for your BC, and use a D-ring on the back of the crotch strap to clip your spool and SMB off to. (does this make sense? Netmage/Chip?)

OR

as Netmage suggested, I am not sure you can is use the "plate pocket thingy" not sure you can with your setup though.

I think the crotch strap runs 10-15 bucks . . . thats probably cheaper then any of the other options right now.

If you opt for a crotch strap (and you should) go for the 2" wide version as opposed to a 1" wide crotch strap.
Okay...I am almost afraid to ask why. I really am very afraid!

The soft transpac and the H storage pak won't work together... really needs a hard plate.... however... take a look here.... Lift Bags and Marking Tubes by Dive Rite - Dive Gear Express

A 50lb bag can fit in the compression sleeve and can be secured horizontally to the bottom of the transpac... just around your bum.... or vertically along the side... shove the bag in there, leaving the 'leash' accessable and clipped off on a waist d-ring you can get to.....

The spool can go on any D-ring... the risk of putting it on the butt, is that you can end up sitting on it, or getting it stuck under the tank, and cracking it.... (slightly)... there's more holes right.....!

I'm surprised your in a transpac w/o a crotchstrap... the BP/W type setups tend to lift up, and the crotch strap just keeps everything centered and grounded....

Recently converted Terri (tasdiver) from a 1" to a 2" strap and she loves it... she was doing Apprentice cave and was running out of places to put spools... I think we had her carrying 4 on one dive...
