Ohhh noes.......

So, if you have a plate... look at one of these....

StoragePAK_small.jpg

A, it provides some padding to the plate, and B> provides a nice pocket, perfect for a 50lb lift bag... clip a 50-100' spool off on a d-ring, and your set for anytime you want to surface away from a flag.....

Get some practice someplace shallow before shooting from any significant depth... and don't be afraid to just let it go if it feels like its getting away from you.... simple and elegant... going for a reel offers more likely-hood of jams and more $$$ anyway...

plus a spool looks really cool if you let it go while the bag is going up . . . it just kind of spins in the water column and doesn;t drop or rise . . .

your hand, what happened to your hand :) :) :)

Okay...what in the heck is the difference between a reel and a spool?

Yes, it is soft compared to the metal type plates I was seeing with Halcyon wings on the cenote dives.

I saw you mention they were unscrewing wings from the plates, were they diving doubles?

reel has a crank, spool doesn't . . .

Yes, the DM's were diving doubles. Looking out for us non-certified cave divers! Those cenotes felt like caves to me...cause there sure wasn't anyplace to ascend for air in a quick and timely manner in some of those parts. Without lights it was pitch dark.

Reels..... more complex, longer.... 250', 400', 800', 1200'....
