Gosh...glad I could help out!! It would be nice if I could make a living doing this. It would be right up my alley.

Not sure how many lives I have left though.:eyebrow:

I have many Cabo San Lucas stories I could tell. I think I need to write a book.
Also, was stuck on the island of Elba for over 6 weeks once. Ferried my Honda over and back and had to drive home to Germany with a smashed moon roof and broken toe over the Swiss Alps after paying $1800 for a clutch to be boated in from Florence. Gave me lots of time to get into trouble. But that story would have to be in the sequel.

...all I can say is, if there is ever a 'Hurricane MARY', I predict it's gonna be a doozy ! :)

Okay...got your knife police hat on now. My knife is anchored to my hose leading to my AIR II. I guess when Raymundo cut himself on it, when he wanted to unsheath it and look at it...that should have been his big clue that he could have told me
"Mary, you are my dive buddy, knives are not allowed in Mexican dive parks"
But...even though blood was flowing and dripping everywhere from his finger for all the dive shop locals to see, not one of them mentioned this fact.

Yep, dove all week with it right there next to my heart!

What can I say.

...I'm still trying to envision how your knife, in a sheath, managed to cut someone ???

I'm praying DAN doesn't get wind of this thread, otherwise you won't be able to afford the premiums. :)

She wouldn't be paying the premiums for long. The way she is going she should be using up the lifetime benefits maxs in a few trips. :D

Hey DiverG,
We thought you were showing up at Wet Wendy's, and here you were hanging out on SB! You were missed.....
alohagal said to say that.

You must have me mixed up with someone else. I do not even arrive in Cozumel till July 18. I wouldn't mind being there right now though. :)

Well, THAT's a good reason not to be there. She thought you were here already and planning to be at the meet last night. Ah well, lapse of judgment in Cozumel.
:rofl3:
Never happened before, I am sure.

If she wakes up before I head out to the boat, I'll tell her your problem with attending.

I have done Exactly that. But with a toe..... Hurt like a mother...... But, It won't for long. A cast is really excessive. They didn't even tape mine. But then they couldn't stitch up the hole because it was a foot area.
But, it will be fine. Try not to bump it too much. And no pokin' people when the drugs set in.
In a few days, it will feel much better and then you can heal easier. Relax and good luck.

Hey all,

Glad to see so many interesting people showing up on the thread.

Okay...yesterday took the ferry to Cozumel and met up with in no certain order:

Macado--from Boston
Pelagicsal---Villa Aldora regular and awesome scuba diver with incredible photos on her 'puter
Centexbear---Texas guy
ScottyB and lovely wife and two gorgeous almost grown children.
Marcus8--from California, has burned lips right now
KC2006 (?) from Virginia with two girlfriends
Bill the lurker from Littleton
Leslief--moving to Italy
and Deborah and Don Francisco--moving to Cozumel from NYC

We ate and had a few Margaritas at Wet Wendy's small little place and I forgot to tip...so I have to go back there and redeem myself.

The last ferry to Playa was cancelled so went back to Sallye's place. (a real burden...NOT)
I am honored to hang out with such an awesome dive goddess.

Walked back into Cozumel town this morning...took photos along the way. It was funny to see the Mayan Pyramid replica with an ancient Mayan figure standing next to some Catholic Saint.
Not really understanding that juxtaposition.

Decided to buy a suitcase in Cozumel. It is pretty awesome although I am sure I paid a premium for it. My dive suitcase was pretty much obliterated by the airlines. This one is a lime green rubbermaid type hard sided suitcase. Brought back over to Playa this morning. Oh my dive gear looks so lovely in it now!! Nice and protected. Suitcase has 4 rollers on it...so it does the 360 degree spin thing. Really like that feature. It was fun bringing a completely empty suitcase back over from Cozumel. I walked all the way back to my hotel with it. Made me look like I was quite the energetic figure. Drove the taxi drivers crazy.

I then went over to El Fogon and had very late lunch. Boy was it good. Then walked over to Mega store and bought my stitch removal supplies. Amiga behind the counter did not speak English...so they called over the loud speakers. It was my LUCKY day. An American Doctor who pratices here in Playa comes over to help out. He was just there as a customer.

Long story short...I got about a half hour of free doctor consultation. He looked at my fingers, reminded me of proper removal technique and what to expect with my hand. Gave me his advice about diving cenotes and that I should remove my stiches tomorrow instead of waiting 10 days. He gave me his card. He was an OB/GYN in the states. Retired to Playa and now Doctors American and Canadian tourists here!! He is "DR. RICHARD" really good guy.

Tomorrow my plan is to take the local bus to Chitchen Itza!! BTW: My laundry from the launderizia was so very nicely washed and folded!! For 63 pesos...I gave her a good tip!

Mary

When I went to lunch today...I had brought all my soaps, shampoos and conditoners I have been collecting from my 3 different hotels, so far, along with me in a shopping bag. I gave them to my waitress. She was thrilled! She thanked me over and over again. Course I gave her a money tip as well!

No surprised that you liked El Fogon! It really is some great food. If you have the oppurtunity, try the arrachera nationale at HC Monterrey. Absolutely excellent.

The Mega is an interesting place and worth a stop for all visitors to PDC.
