I hear ya!! I am sadly the only one in the family that dives. My friends have no interest in diving. So I do get asked where I have been or what I have been learning and I realize after a few minutes they are done listening and want to move on to another topic. Yet they have me all geared up and I want to ramble on or talk to someone with my passion. My wife finally has succumb to the idea that 1) we can't go on vacation unless there is somewhere close by I can dive 2) We have to manage our luggage because my scuba gear just took up one of our free checked bags 3) I will be gone a few weekends in the summer to dive. I am even more annoying up to a month after I have been on a dive trip as I have to share my excitement with the first person that asks "So how was scuba diving?"

the people asking the question "So how was scuba diving?" should take part of the blame for the dissertation that follows, they are the ones that asked :)

Greetings Ronin I feel your pain and have been suffering myself for several years.
It gets easier with time but no less difficult at times.
This past season I voluntarily took 8 weeks off from diving and I have to say that I have not been as depressed since my substance abuse days.
IT HAS BEEN ROUGH!

I have learned a few things though in the span of time.
I am totally addicted, lost to diving for good!
If I have to take time off it is ok, just have to have a solid return date or trip planned to look forward to.
My advice is do what you have to do then get to the water ASAP!
Life is to short to live 12-15hrs from water!

Whatever you do DO NOT START CAVE DIVING!
You will never be the same AGAIN!
It is the cocaine of diving!
Watch out!

CamG Keep Diving....Keep training....Keep Learning!

Those that don't talk about Scuba at holiday parties. (Complete BORES)

I would say I'm passionate. My wife says I'm obsessed.

I couldn't convince any of my friends to dive so I certified my daughter who is my new dive buddy. Now my wife says I need to be certified.

My first thought when I rinsing my gear is, "when can I go diving again."

Maybe I should have started this reply, "Hi, my name is Willie and I'm an addict.":D
