That might be the understatement of the year! :D

That being said, I moved to Key Largo this year. It's dive mecca enough for me!

I would do it in a heartbeat if the wife would be ok with it.

Ronin, welcome to the addictive phase of scuba.........I have been instructed by wife not to discuss scuba in public, unless asked, because it makes people's eyes glaze over. I do it anyway........a diving girlfriend would be helpful at this point.

Well, at least your addiction has not progressed to the point of not needing her permission to make radical life choices! :D

She is actually ok with me getting my instructor's cert.

Yep its all I think about while working or off some way, some how I'm thinking about scuba or some aspect of it. My wife would love me to find another hobby...so I took up boating hahahahaha!!! :eyebrow:

I was/am the same way and now look at me.......I'm an Instructor! There could be worse things to obsess about !!

Mitch you are not alone. I have only been certified for a few month and done a couple of dives, every time I talk to someone I'm trying to get them certified, so I can have more dive buddies to go and share the experience with. I will going on a cruise next month with Carnival and will be diving Grand Cayman, can't wait. This will be our first ocean dive. I actually have to think about other things to talk about (which is hard) so I don't overwhelm anyone with my scuba stuff.

Yep I'm sitting here at the house hoping my new dry suit would get here. hey top I see you have a shop. we ought to do some patches.

I know the feeling of wanting to talk about scuba all the time :)

The question I get alot is "how long does your oxygen last?", and they are likely just making conversation, but after 45 minutes of listening to me talk about different gas mixes, volume changes at depth, nitrogen absorbtion, and partial pressures, they can't wait to get away from me.

So now, I just assume (likely incorrectly) that since they refer to oxygen in their question, that they mean no deeper than 20', and my answer is "a little over an hour" and I do everything I can to hold back everything else :)

I have since found that people don't try to avoid me at parties anymore.
