I may be a wet-behind-the-ears diver but I love sushi and sashimi. I have a non-diving buddy and we make sushi and or sashimi almost every week. I especially love the octopus, salmon and unage (eel)..yum yum. I am surprised that most people won't even eat raw squid and claim that it's made for bait.

I'm from Delaware and find it really hard to find good and fresh ingredients for sushi. Maybe I should move to the PNW where I can dive for my dinner and perhaps meet Uncle Pug - that would be an honor!

Kampai (cheers) and safe diving to all,

Dan

Next time, double the amount of wasabi on his sushi.
If one doesn't care for tabasco one isn't likely to care for wasabi either.

Hey, DanBo-
You enjoy many types of sushi, and signed off with "kampai"... have you lived in Japan? Nihongo hanasemasu ka?

DaveO

DaveO,

Funny you ask me about my Japanese. When I was working in Japan for 6 months (training) I was hoping to practice my Japanese but my Japanese friends insisted on practicing their English language on me instead. I loved their saki (rice wine) though.

Saki's nice, but sake's better.

used to serve dinner guests small portions of tabasco-flavored sorbet between meals, to cleanse the palate. and she was famous for her eel-avocado-habanero sushi.

you and she would have made beautiful music -- or at least beautiful meals -- together. :fire:

Tabasco is an accepted condiment on anything including ice cream!
