If you're a Puget Sound diver, this word will require no explanation. We know about the thermocline, and we know about the halocline. But Puget Sound is a place where we also understand:

The crudocline.

Yesterday evening at Redondo, the crudocline sat right where the major thermocline was, but it's not always that way. The crudocline is that region where all the crud in the water collects, and below which, the visibility opens up to something that's actually diveable.

Feel free to adopt and use this word with total abandon. I offer it to the Puget Sound/Washington dive community as a gift :D

I think I will adopt that.... Ive had multiple Redondo experiences like that.
