I have it on me at all times. :) But I'm curious as to why you would say that? Is a 22 or 24 hour SI before flying not enough? From what I've learned in my training classes, PADI recommends only 12 hours for a single tank dive and 18 hours for a multiple day/tank dive.

According to the DAN article posted above: it says "The U.S. Navy tables recommend that you wait at least two hours before you board a plane after diving; the U.S. Air Force says you should wait 24 hours; DAN recommends a 12-hour minimum surface interval before flying. Which guideline should you follow?"

Of course they are still just recommendations! But does anyone recommend a longer than 24 hour SI?
I don't know why some divers act like they know more than DAN about SI needs before flying. Reading the DAN articles is always informative, but DAN does not suggest "make your 24 hour SI" before flying. I guess some think that if 18 hours is good, 24 is better - but there is no known science to support that.

Otherwise, you do have a tight schedule, in a not so great location for scuba. Hope you enjoy whatever you do find.

Reminds me when I first started diving in 1981, we were taught not to fly until we were a D level on the USN tables:) Good luck in finding a dive site and enjoy your trip!

Thanks! Back now and it was a bust!... :( Port was closed to high seas the whole time I was there. Oh well, at least I got paid to go. :)

That sucks, but then I've learned not to go in the winter. It used to seem like a good idea to head for the tropics when it's cold here, but I've been thru too many northers that got that far. Now I like to go in the summertime to cool off.

Hi, Isla Mujeres is a great place to dive. I go there each year for the express purpose of diving. I dive with Casa del Buceo. Scuba Diving Isla Mujeres They are a small, very professional dive resort that caters to small groups. The largest group I have ever dove with is 6. Enrique Cruz their divemaster is very knowledgeable about all the local dive options and the flora and fauna in the area. I made this video on my last trip.

It will give you an idea of the dive options.

I am an older diver. 72 years old so I dive very conservatively.

I'm planning on going back in July for little vacation. For whale sharks! :D
