I am skeptical about a close friend of mine and her diving experience.

Hey guys, OP here,

Here is some more information for you, though I think my skepticism has paid off.

1) This is in fact not a troll thread by any means. This is 100% legitimate.
2) She did say that she isn't there to stop the shipwreck from being damaged, just there to report back what happened if and when something happens.
3) She also claims to take photographs of shipwrecks etc.
4) She didn't say she made 60,000 a year, but 60,000 for one trip. The trip was located in Bermuda, after all fees or whatever she claims to have taken home around 25,000 in earned money.
6) She is definitely a little crazy, both bad and good.
7) She is definitely from a wealthy family, and claims that her grandmother had left her money to get certifications/ gear.

I think I have enough proof to know this is for the most part untrue, at least the dollar amount. I just wanted to ensure she was lying to me.

Thanks for all the help everyone, truly appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I would first like to state that I am not a diver. However, I just recently started dating a woman who claims to be a "Master Diver" who says she is an active diver. Some of the things she says seem to be completely false. For instance, she said that she is often paid exorbitant amounts of money (60,000 if you include living expenses, diving expenses etc etc) to survey shipwrecks that are documented in the Caribbean during hurricanes, etc. in order to make sure they remain stable during the storm. She also claims to have swam in a tank of sharks to receive her license etc. Now I know that the majority of this is completely ridiculous from the amount of research I have done, and getting to know her more I can tell she is an exaggerator. I would just like to know if there is any validity to anything she has said...

Also, I am not sure if age comes into play, but she's 22 and claims to have started diving at 14.

Thanks

Run, run far, run fast, do not look back.

Seems simple enough to ask to see some of her pictures. No reason beyond curiosity needed.

What if all she says is true?

Pick out a nice card for her.. something like

"Roses are red,
Violets are blue
I'm schizophrenic and so am I"

If she goes all Cybil on you, run like hell

*grumbles* any comments that come to mind in regards to divers and the mental state of others would get this shoved into the Pub.... :(

oh well, bottom lines would be she's over 21 so can make up her own minds and you can always change your cellphone # & file a restraining order at worst. the other bottom line.....

You said she came from a wealthy family?

Does this mean you are going to drop her?

If so, can I have her phone #?

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

Just kidding.

If she comes around saying she is now an instructor and offers you lessons don't bite. This could turn into a Lifetime Channel movie so fast......
