TEKCamp 2011

What an incredible idea, and an utterly fantastic opportunity! Imagine spending a week hanging out with a bunch of top-end tech instructors and diving with a different one each day -- what you could learn! I don't know whose idea this was, but it's sure a great one.

This is one of those things that are almost impossible to do in the US, simply because of the enormous distances that people can be apart.

Anyway, I'm sure going to be looking forward to some writeups from people who are fortunate enough to attend.

I am so tempted!

Hmmm, you are going to Mexico and I'm staying home -- maybe YOU could stay home and I could go to England?

That's the scary part.

I have a good idea along the same lines. How about a week long intro to GUE/ indoctrination. Nothing that is pass fail, just an opportunity for new people to be fully immersed and ave time to execute new gear and skills prior to hitting the fundies trail?

I suspect it will be pretty popular. If there was a way to gauge such things, I would guess the UK would turn out to have the highest number of tec divers as a percentage of divers overall of pretty much any country. Hard core divers over there.

Well, if you look at the list of instructors and read their bios, this isn't all that far off . . . :)

I did, which is what prompted my reply. The trip to the uk round trip shclepping a full compliment of tech gear not nearly as attractive as a stateside venue.

I'm from England, and I would deffinately be attending this if I wasn't off back to cyprus in a few weeks..

:(
and yes, we UK divers are hardcore!
