A question was relayed to me through a mutual acquaintance. Female adult diver had hypersensitive pneumonitis (allergic reaction), apparently pretty severe. I am told she is OK now and wants to know if it is alright to return to diving. I will suggest she take the RSTC Medical Statement to her physician for an evaluation, and to contact DAN; but wonder if there is other information or advice I should pass on to her.

thanks

The best evaluation to see whether her lung function has returned to normal would be to go through pulmonary function testing. What you really don't want to dive with is bronchospasm or partial or complete bronchial obstruction. If her exercise tolerance is normal, it's unlikely she still has any significant diffusion abnormalities.
