Hyperbaric Chambers in the Deep Dixie Area

Hey everyone,

Santa bought me a new new GPS and I was wanting to put in all of the available locations of hyperbaric chambers from Marianna/ Panama City, Florida to the Orange Beach, Alabama area. Not that I plan on using them in the new year, but I certainly want to have them to help me or someone else if I need it. All I need is the name and I can search for the address. If you know the address as well I would appreciate that as well. Hopefully this thread will also help others to know available locations for hyperbaric treatment if they need it.

you might want to also find out if they:

1.) take emergency cases (or just do daily scheduled work)
2.) are staffed 7x24
3.) how many will it hold


The reason I ask this is that a couple years ago I read that the hospital in Pensacola was no longer doing emergency hyberbaric treatments anymore and if an emergency came up they would transfer them to another hospital.

there was a thread on it a while back here. just something to consider.


When you get the information, posting it here would be a great resource also.


In addition to putting the Chambers info in your GPS(which is a great idea), put DAN's phone number(s) in your cell phone also. because chances are if you have to call them in the event of an emergency, you're not gonna have them written down anywhere in your dive gear. (but putting them in a book, like a log book, that you carry with your gear is a good idea also).

This list is extremely outdated. Tallahassee Community Hospital is, and has been, Capital Regional Medical Center for several years. They also do not provide 24 hour HBO. They will put a diver in during normal business hours, but don't expect them to come in after hours.

Bay Medical in Panama City has not offered 24 hour HBO in about 2 years. They have been busy enough they likely won't be able to accommodate diver emergencies even during business hours. The Naval Station in Panama City is there for military personnel. It's not likely a civilian will be able to get treatment there. From what I understand, Baptist in Pensacola and another hospital (not sure of the name) in Jacksonville are the closest chambers to us. Next are Orlando and Tampa.

I was incorrect... It wasn't P'Cola... it was Panama City that stopped doing after hours emergency chamber rides.

From what I understand, Baptist in Pensacola and another hospital (not sure of the name) in Jacksonville are the closest chambers to us. Next are Orlando and Tampa.

There is a chamber in Tallahassee and also up in Dothan and also in Andalusia. Those would be closer than Orlando or Tampa. (if available).

Mike, my post wasn't necessarily directed at you. I just quoted it as a reference. As for the chambers in Tallahassee, Dothan, and Andalusia, none of them are 24 hour chambers catering to divers. The closest 24 hour emergency chambers are P'cola, Jax, Orlando, and Tampa.
