I have read a number of you talking about hyperstretch wetsuits and I am wondering if you could recommend one that isn't by custom. I am going to see if I can order one through my LDS and I think that hyperstretch would be the best because it will fit comfortable for the longest part of my weight loss.

It's Henderson's name for the super-stretchy fabric of their newest wetsuit. You get the size CLOSEST to your own, & let the fabric do the rest. If the suit is not in stock, you may need to give them measurements so they can figure out your size.

NOTE: The porousness of this fabric makes it somewhat less toasty than the usual 7mm Michelin Man suits. I compensate by adding a trilaminate Henderson fleece-lined skin (don't worry, it will NOT add buoyancy; in fact, mine makes me more negative when wet!) There are other brands with stretchy material now, & they may be just as good. Once u try this, you will not want to put on any other fabric!

I Montana I'd think that a DRYsuit would be a girl's best friend :).

What conditions will you be using that wetsuit under?

I know this might cause panic in alot of you but my OW dive conditions will be a surface temp of 68 and a temp at depth of about 48 degrees. I doubt that I will dive frequently in this lake because I am a warm weather kind of girl ...not necessarily warm water but warm weather. I figure if i buy a 7mm wetsuit or semi dry suit it will be good even in socal.

I am a plus size woman and got my 6.5 mm from Aquaflite - custom made. I also got a 3mm for my Cozumel trip I just took. The price was not as much as I thought it would be for a custom suit. There website is www.aquaflite.com. The suits fit me really well and make diving a pleasure. I phoned in and they gave me a lot of information. You have someone take a lot of measurements on your body but the suit fits well, is snug, and easy for me to get into because it is custom. Those days of tugging and straining to get into a wetsuit for my OW check out dives are over!
I dive the 6.5 mm in quarries with temperatures that can get down to 47 degrees (if not lower) and I stay comfortable and warm. I haven't tried the Henderson Hyperstretch yet- plan on getting a 5 mm from them.

GIRL!!!!! the Henderson Hyperstretch is the ONLY way to go!!! once you try one, you will never have to try another!!! COMFORT is the key word here!!

I have been in 50 degree water with the Henderson 7/5 suit and was as warm as my michilen man suit....I will be adding the core warmer this fall (or sooner), for the ice dives........=-)

Can anyone tell me if there is much difference between Henderson's Gold core and their Hyperstretch suits? Specifically comfort and warmth.

Just comparing hoods the hyperstretch felt much stretchier than the gold core. The store I was at didn't have any full suits to compare.

I love my 5 mm Hyperstretch, I wore it all week in Bonaire - it is extremely easy to get on and off -- whether it is wet or dry. Sooooo much nicer than the wetsuits worn in class. I know I won't be buying anything else.

Henderson has been on the forefront of some great innovations in dive appearal - both of these fabrics prove they are in tune with customer demand. But both suits perform differently. The Gold-core, as you can see, is a "skin-in" suit with a lining that keeps you very warm but limits the flexibility. The Hyperstretch is all about flex; it is like putting on a thick Danskin & pirouetting around your apartment with little restriction. What it sacrifices is the warmth of the Goldcore. So, as we say in the art biz, "pick one." Your priority will determine which.
