I just wanted to ask what are you paying for Hydro testing, also what are you paying for Hydro testing with eddy current test for older Luxfer tanks made from 6351? I am having to change hydro test centers as the one I had previously used no longer does scuba tanks.

thanks Ike

You're looking for a "VE" stamp along with the hydro. Should cost about $15-$20 if you go to the hydro facility directly (look in the yellow pages for fire extinguisher places). May cost upwards of $50 if you go to a drive shop.

I think I paid $25 for my beer CO2 cylinder to be hydro'd as well as have and eddy current test.

As a follow up, does anyone know of a hydro service in west Louisiana or SE Texas that offer the VE stamp? I talked to my local Simplex Grinnel office they do regular hydro, their office in New Orleans (200 miles away) has an eddy current test machine, but no one DOT certified to use it. The service I previously used changed owners and no longer does scuba tanks in central Louisiana.

thanks Ike
