The filler we use is actually the Coltri Deluxe that has the valve and bleeder.

And yeah ... the little AE BPR is our choice.

The filter cartridge that comes with the compressor is pulled because it doesn't seem to do as good of a job as the custom ones that we had LF make up for us. The black plastic tube is a bit thicker than the LF so most likely doesn't hold the same amount of chemicals. We still repackage and sell the black cartridges to the paintball/air gun people that just need dry air. No sense tossing them in the garbage!

Thanks Ray.
Makes good sense, the same filler is supplied in the UK and it may explain why Coltri made it with that odd (to us at least) American JIC 4 outlet.

The filter chemical life is for our part not going to be affected much by a thicker wall, against the LF thinner polycarbonate wall, our take is more in that Coltri use a Chinese sourced Molecular sieve, with more inert binder in than the LF stuff. We calculated 30% of the chemical in the sieve was inert clay.

Apart from the cup temp test. Pure non carcinogetic molecular sieve is pure white, the Chinese stuff ranges from light tan to brown, rule of thumb is the lighter it is the less inert binder in it and the longer it lasts. The Bauer stuff even contains a carcinogetic warning for Breathing Air goodness sake due to the content.

By example a single P33" tower using the standard 2.5" SS repack cartridge and a 150 bar BPR setting processes 90,000 cuft to BSEN 12021 European standard. Using a 10/20/30 visual indicator for indication and a Shaw SADP Moisture monitor. -60C dew point.

I can't remember the figures for the 70mm (2.750") OD diameter stainless repack cartridge but the diameter difference from 63mm to 70mm made a substantial difference in filter life expectancy on the 660mm long 26" cartridge

Around 1285 cylinder fills in Yankee terms. Needless to say no one in the scuba diving industry or filter manufacturing is interested, they last too long I guess. Iain
