I think I have attached some thoughts that, in the wake of Dean, that might be useful for members of this forum. If it doen't show up I'll try again.

Thanks Dave, nice information. I usually come in late September and think it is the best time but I came in August this year and still had a great time, by the way here are a couple of pictures from Palancar Caves I took when I was out with Aldora and are of The DM Edgar.

Dave: Thanks for putting it into perspective. Imagine how much more civil and calm the world would be without the media?

An excellent analysis Dave, many thanks! May I please send it to my entire family in the States?

Good article Dave and I agree with you. Some of my best trips have been in August and November. Plannin on being there this coming November.

Thanks Dave for putting into perspective! I'll be back in November too!

Thanks for that commentary David. I know some of us who flew down despite Dean being a tropical depression out in the Atlantic were chastised for doing so.

The only ones I saw being chastised in here were those who either were coming in or not wanting to leave when Dean was a cat 4 storm and only a couple of days from landfall.

I agree with Gordon. I didn't think anyone participating in any messages here on SB regarding Dean were chastised. It was the people that arrived on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday just prior to Dean making landfall as a cat5 hurricane with expectations to dive. As I recall, Christi reported people calling her to go diving while fellow SB'ers reported vacationers arriving on planes during the informal evacuations. People here then started to voice their aggravation (chastise) with those just arriving and expecting accommodations, service and diving during a very hectic and trying time for the islanders. YMMV

Excellent analysis and explanation Dave. Thank you so much for putting that together and posting it here! FWIW, I agree with everything you said :)
