First hand reports tell me that the Ocean Isle beach area made it through without too many problems. I've read that Wilmington had a similar experience, but I'm more concerned about what I've seen and read regarding the Morehead City area. WRAL had some pictures of Front Street in Beaufort with water up to the door at Clawsons. I also saw that the Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, etc... area took it pretty hard.

Has anyone heard or seen how Discovery, Olympus, or the dive boats along the Atlantic Beach Causeway (DiverDown, SeaTales, Atlantis) fared?

Good Luck to those still feeling it in the northern part of outer banks.

rumor on ncdivers.com is that olympus seems fine but the boats aren't back yet. the phone message said they were closed yesterday & to be opened today, but they didn't answer & haven't called me back.

Olympus and Discovery both appeared to be fine this morning, though they hadn't moved their boats back yet (as of 10:00 am). It was still fairly windy even a few minutes ago. I was up on an old lady's roof in Emerald Isle fixing her roof vent and the ladder blew down! I had to flag down somebody off the street to stand the ladder back up.

Thanks Frank. I figured the boats would probably make it Ok, but after seeing some of the pictures I wondered if the shops might have flooded.

Careful with those ladders - stay safe

Just got power back on in Bft. after 28 hrs off. Things were pretty windy here and with the sudden change (unbeknownst to us since the power was off) in direction, we ended up with Hurricane I and TS force winds until about noon today.

I took the little boat out to the inlet at noon and it was still nasty (8-10 in the inlet with 5-9 outside). Lots and lots of boats on the beaches of Taylors Creek and other places. We had no damage to the docks but I'm not sure what the seas will have done to the bottom. Might be a little dark down there this weekend. Now that I've got power, I'm gonna take a hot shower and get some much needed rest. Until next time....

How sad is this...that I'm replying a month late...
Well, I'M FINE, our boats are fine... but my power supply on my Mac took a dump. Possibly a surge? Who knows... replaced it & it popped again. So I opted to just replace it with a new G4.

So... yeah, I'm back online...finally!
