Hunting on shore dives?

Ok here's another question. Why do most shore divers carry pole spears instead of guns?

Actually, in general when and why would you use one over the other?

Oh yeah. Yesterday we went on the other side of the bridge too. More to see over there, bigger critters on that side too.

Have you guys been having decent vis at the train bridge? Is it worth diving? (assuming, of course, that your buddy remembers to bring his fins...)

This week was pretty bad. We got in really late and by the time we hit the West side of the bridge, the tide was going out pretty strong.

We're probably heading there again in 2 weeks.

And yes I even had fins, even though most of the dive was spent crawling through mud in less than 2' of water!
