Sadly, the only really close picture I got was, well too close and you cannot really tell what it is:

One weird thing - the third to the last picture that SeaYoda posted looks fake. I noticed right away that something didn't seem right with the proportionality of the whale and boat. I am very familiar with humpback whales because I see them out the window of my office all the time where I work (yes, that's true - my office is in Juneau Alaska). Then I noticed the whale in exactly the same breech pose in the next picture, but with a different background on the shore. Puffer Fish's great photo shows this photo in much greater detail. It looks like someone took Puffer Fish's photo, cropped out the whale, and the pasted the whale on to the photo with the boat.

We just missed seeing this beauty... we went out around noon on the Aquanaut. Shucks.

y'all are so fortunate to have been able to see such an amazing sight.

maybe it knew that Destin wasn't really that crowded this weekend so it took a detour there on it's way to where ever..:D

Mine are better quality... so there.

Were you here and didn't tell any of us????

Looks fine to me. Albeit some of the original photos have been very cropped(and degraded). The background is common between all the breeching photos for the most part. I'm guessing, the whale breeched more than once.

Guilty as charged.... I drove down after work, so had not had a lot of sleep.

The whale breached about 20 times, and getting a picture was very difficult.

Honestly, I don't remember that boat in that one picture being there....there was a smaller boat in some of the pictures... need to go back and look, I have lots of bad images which would include all the boats that were there... will do tonight.

Oh, be down the forth of July
