Hp100 vs lp 104

So I have the chance to pick up either of these in a pair with associated manifold and bands. Planning to use them as singles initially until I really find a use for doubles (and lugging all that weight) since I'll probably be doing mostly shore dives for a while. Any input on which might be better FOR ME. Im in Boston and will eventually move back to CA. No cave diving for me, no side mount either.

I'm only 5'6" but am 175lb and pretty broad shoulders/back. Used to dive hp100s in a PST 3445 and liked that well enough. The ones in question are Sherwood and the LP are PST supposedly.

The HP 100 Sherwoods (Asahi) are probably 3500psi so true HP where as the LP 104 are std. LP cylinders. What you need to do is figure out the buoyancy characteristics. And decide on which will work best for your diving.

the asahi tanks are heavier and bottom heavy. they seem to be less popular because of it. majority of suggestions seem to be go worthington for HP and faber for LP.

I like the LP because I can always get a good fill. Some boats don't do HP and even the ones that do struggle to get a good solid 3500 psi. Some shops also charge more for a HP fill than a LP fill. Also, its easier to get an overfill on a LP which will give you a little more air. Your area shops/boats and your diving may be different.
