What's your preference?
Faber HD galvanized or Painted?

I have the painted and it scratches. I worry some about it getting rust in the scratches. The galvanized were not out yet when I bought mine. I also have a worthington galvanized and while it does not look as pretty, it does not scratch and I if I were to buy a Faber now, I think I would go with the galvanized.

Painted Faber in fresh water. For 2 reasons: weight and less likely to rust if scratched and I forget to hose it until the next day.

Galvanized Worthington in Salt. Will take and act of God to rust them. And the weight characteristics are perfect.

I knocked mine over on the asphalt parking lot the other day and there is no sign it happened. That's not going to happen with the painted tanks. The are heavier though.

Painted tanks look great when they're brand new. After a few dives, they're going to be scratched up. It's unavoidable.

Galvanized will likely be a few bucks more (around $10).

According to the Faber specs, the galvanized and painted HP100s are the exact same weight empty (34 lbs).

Beyond that, it becomes a matter of your personal preference.

I have 3 of the new faber galv. hp100 tanks. The average weight of them is 38.3 lbs. empty. The HP80s weigh 32 lbs empty. These weights include the blue steel valves.

Sorry about that. Looked at a page that had the wrong specs for the galvanized. The FX100DVBs (painted) are 34.3 lbs. The M100DVBs (galvanized) are 38.7 lbs. My mistake.
