Just a thought here - instead of that 7 mil, consider a dry suit.

The 7 mill wetsuit will compress significantly at depth, which will affect both your weighting and your comfort. For not much more than the wet suit, you can get into a dry suit. Not the best dry suit, but a dry suit.
Thanks Bill. I will consider that when I get ready to purchase. You'll all see a bunch of new questions as that point!

Here is another option. I used 2" tubular webbing for my crotch strap. My tri glides lock on just fine and it is extremely flexible and comfortable.

The newer Halcyon harness webbing is more flexible than the one I use which is quite stiff so if that's what you are using you may find that crotch strap comfort isn't an issue.

This link is where I bought mine in Vancouver but you could check out rescue equipment suppliers or climbing shops in your area.

Thanks deepdiverbc.

I'll look into this webbing at my local climbing shop and compare it to the webbing that I get from Dive Rite. I imagine that flexibility in the crotch strap is a key to comfort. I imagine that it gets more important as one gets into warmer water where thermal protection is minimal. It may also help when practicing specific techniques in a pool wearing just swim trunks.

You can also try Reef Scuba (http://www.reefscuba.com). Even if you find what you need elsewhere right now, this is a good address to keep bookmarked.

Thanks cornfed. That looks like a good place to get a lot of things. I just browsed their site found a lot of things that I'll need besides webbing.

I cannot stop laughing at this "butt floss" idea. I don't even know what it is but I know I don't want it either. That is hilarious.
