On today's dive we used the Rolock gloves : honestly it completely changed the dive..
The temperature profile today was 12° ( 53° f) on the surface and 10° ( 50° f) at 31m ( 101 feet) for a 50 minute dive. It wasn't the coldest of dives but here it doesn't usually get below 7° ( 44° f) even in the height of winter but it wasn't the warmest of dives either. Not once did I feel the cold on my hands and this in turn made the rest of the dive very, very agreeable.... It truly made a huge difference. I also had the Odlo 1st layer so that might have helped as well a little.
I just need to sew a little bit, of about 20cms/6inch or so of 5mm string/paracord/tubing onto my sweat shirt and pass it through the seals for the gloves to "breath". Today I slipped the seal overs my inner gloves in order to perform the same task.
I am beginning to understand why some people dive dry all year round.. Where we live anyway, not so much on the tropics obviously
