I have a high instep and after several days of multiple dives with my FF Pros, they get sore. Whether I use 3mm boots or Comfort Insteps, the result is the same. So, I want to cut an opening in the foot pocket over the area that gets sore. What is the best way to go about it( tools, hole size, etc)?
I realize this a sacrilege but, diving with any other fin is not an alternative. Thanks for any advice you may have.

This doesn't exactly answer your question, but have you though about getting the Adjustable Force Fins? According to their website:

"If you want to share your fins with others, you have a high, bony instep, or other special fit needs, then Adjustable Force Fins are great for you!"

That way you get all of the benefits of Force Fins without having to mutilate a pair.

Could it be a problem with the boot? Do you have one with a high sole? (Mares, etc.) If so, maybe just changing your boot will cure the problem. If all else fails, send them to me!

I appreciate your input, simmonsjr and jester1226. The extra snap of the Pros is what motivates me to stay with them rather than using the adjustable. My boots are soft sole ScubaPro Deltas, since the soreness occurs with either boots or barefoot with Comfort Inserts, I don't think it's the boots. We're still working on it so I'll let you know what happens. One way or another it's got to be Force Fins. I've had all the paddles and split I want for this lifetime.

If it's snap you want and you happen to have some excess cash-flow then consider the SD-1 Military version. The footbed is adjustable and it is made from the mind altering Tan Delta material (even better snap than the pros). Either way you should PM Bob Evans, he's the mastermind behind the FFs or Blair Mott, he's their product specialist; if anyone can help you out it'll be one of them.

a couple of choices here, you can cut them out and then do your best to round the edge similiar to what the Flying Force has, you can call Bob and ask him to modify them for you. the open footpocket of the Flying Force is fantastically more comfortable and it will fix your problem.

I did it. My FF Pros now have a foot pocket similar to the foot pocket on Flying FF. Looks good, feels good. Tomorrow we go to the pool for a test run.
Many Thanks to everyone for the input and support. It's a great group of people at SB and FF in particular.
