I live near Boston and plan on get my c-card soon but I would like know how to get lobsters up here in Boston?

There's quite a few threads in the NELD forum that discusses the license policies. You can get your license online from the MA division of marine fisheries website [$40 for a resident annually]

I not sure about the license issue there. Fortunately I don't have to have a license here. I just can't get more than six per day. Check the size regulations there. We have a minimum size of 3 11/32". I am sure that you can pick up a gauge. Also when you get one, turn it over and look for eggs. They will appear as dark specs all over the bottom of the tail. If you do find one with eggs, put it back.

But, the best tool to get lobsters is you hand. Don't waste your time with those fancy snares and tickle sticks.

Look in a hole, if you see a lobster, just jam you hand in and grab the lobster. You have o be quick. If you are to slow, the lobster will either back up in the hole out of reach or pinch you. Once you get it outside the hole, watch out for the claws. If they get you it will hurt. Turn the lobster around and hold him by the body. When you go to put him in the bag, do it tail first. Otherwise it will get away. Remember lobster swim with their tails and swim backwards.

Good luck. There is nothing like a lobster that you caught yourself.

jeez... this is an easy question, but i'm glad to help:

1. go into sea food restaurant
2. order lobster
3. wait a little bit

this assumes you want them for immediate consumption. if you want
to prepare them yourself, substitute step 1 above with the following:

1.a. and/or seafood store

voila!

[WARNING: the above is a joke (and a bad one too) and is not meant to
offend, stress, demean, or otherwise enrage anti-lobster cruelty advocates,
their pets, or anyone else for that matter]

HAAAAA;

This works to. I have stopped at the store on the way home because I promised to bring home lobster and never even saw one.

First you have to find them.
Then try and ctch them.
On your way home stop at the nearest supermarket like
I do. Get the medium size ones, their cheaper.
Them go home and cook them.

Lots of Luck

Joe

Get your license (from the Div of Marine Fisheries) then go with someone that knows how to catch them (it's pretty easy). You can post here (in the NELD forum) and you won't have trouble finding a buddy to show you the ropes.

hey! that's a picture of a Maine lobster you have as an avatar!

(i can also quickly identify a Mauser rifle from a javelin)

No sir, that's an MA lobster :)

Actually the common name is "American Lobster."

well, darn it, they call them Maine lobsters at Red Lobster (that hallowed shrine of
marine taxonomy and nomenclature).

ok, i'll compromise. let's call it a New Englad lobster...
