1. Put an Alka-seltzer in your BCD pocket.
2. Put it in your instructor's pocket.
3. Get a big dive knife and wear it strapped to your leg before you get to the pool or dive site.

Brandnew2Scuba:
Announce "time to surface" attach and inflate a lift bag to your instructors ankle

that's absolutely hilarious pal :rofl3:

I liked the alka-seltzer bit... Good plans! How about keeping dry ice in a zip loc bag, then opening it underwater?

Instructions to a Shark dive before failing your OW course: Before jumping in,get a fresh fish that hasnt been bled out and slice it open and attach to your instructor's or DM's bc. A surefire way to get a sharkdive on the 1st open water dive.

"I'd like you to meet my dive buddy... he a real chum!"

I actually got in trouble for this! During rescue no less.

Surefire way to fail OW, complete the "warhammer" maneuver. If you don't know what that is, google deeprelief.jpg ... at your own risk :D

I believe that diver was rocket powered...

That should be posted in the pee in the wetsuit thread just to give it a new spin.

This is sorta off topic: A surefire way to know you are not getting proper training: Before going into the water my instructor tells everyone that it is extremely important and obvious to turn your air on BEFORE you get into the water. Once in the water and heading to the middle of the spring my instructor comes up to me and says very quietly: Can you turn on my air?...Oh and please keep this between the two of us
After he said that I was VERY scared.
And told the rest of the class!

Start the dive using your alternative air source.

Attach the cylinder to your BC upside down and wonder why you can't get it on.
