After rinsing and hanging for 24hrs I re-empty it again then re-inflate.

These days my SI is rarely more than seven days, but I've been doing this for years with no issues when SIs were sometimes measured in weeks when I was working.
that's what I used to do... sometimes a couple of cycles lightly inflate, preferably with dry air and not breath..... let it evaporate inside a day or two with it hanging so that the OPV is the low point....then drain and shake...and repeat a time or two till I get no more water droplets out...maybe another time for good measure before putting into storage

I rinse in fresh water, then open the dump valve and hang it to dry for 2-3 days before packing it up for long term storage. No point overthinking it. It is likely damp inside when I pack it for the return trip home from the vacation destination, but thats just a days trip typically …

If I'm putting wings or BCD's into storage for a few months I do the following:
In the final rinse of the bladder I'll add some isopropyl alcohol, slosh it around and dump. Then I'll put it on a hanger with both the Inflator elbow and the dump valves removed (careful with those gaskets!!). Let it hang for a couple of days, reassemble and away it goes.

While you're at it, don't neglect that inflator. Get plenty of fresh water running through it every which way you can. I like to put a hose up to the oral inflate and push the power inflate button to get water flowing over and through the Shrader valve and coming out the QD.

I do not use isopropyl, mouthwash, bleach or anything like that in my wings. I rinse with fresh water several times with a Steramine pill dropped into the bladder. Shake it around, let it sit and then drain and dry with partial inflation.

Steramine or Divesoft disinfection - Divesoft.com - Divesoft.com is the only reasonable thing I know. Fresh water only does not kill any bacteria, viruses or similar. A dry bladder still contains bacteria and viruses and similar.

There is no need for a dry bladder at all. Best is a wet bladder containing a small rest of Steramine or any other disinfection.

You don't have to open the bladder. Simply put some disinfection into inflator, add 1/2 lt of fresh water, shake the bladder, let it sit and drain it more or less. Best is warm water but cold water works as well.

I would never ever use isopropyl, this immediately washes out any grease. An inflator likes greased o-rings.

Steramine is a food safe and eco friendly sterilizer. It is mostly used in the food and restaurant industry. It will not harm any type of dive equipment and it is inexpensive, easy to carry on a trip in pill form and easily found most places. I would not drop a pill in a saltwater aquarium but what little remains in a bladder after draining and drying out is not going to harm the reef or environment and it will not harm you.

DGX carries it as well at a great price. Combine it with other items for free shipping.

I have started using it to sterilize all of my 2nd stages and wings after each trip.

Walmart has them online in a 2 pack for $19. Couple years ago I bought a single bottle and it's so half full. I break 1 tablet in half and put that into a 16.9 oz plastic water bottle of warm water to flush my pee tube/valve. 1 tab would be more than enough to rinse a wing.

I dont bother, rinse it out with fresh water and it's fine staying wet indefinitely.
If wet, keep wet. If dry, keep dry.

For longer term storage:
Dissolve 1/2 tablet Steramine in 2 Liter bottle of water. This can take a couple of hours.
Wash thoroughly with clean fresh water. A mild detergent or hand soap can be used but no harsh chemicals.
Inflate the wing with some fresh water. One pump of liquid antibacterial hand soap or baby shampoo. Slosh around and let drain from Over Pressure Valve and inflator hose.
Flush wing with fresh water at least twice.
Use the Steramine and let sit for an hour.
Drain the wing through the hose. Unscrew the hose and let dry. You can insert a length of cloth through the opening to where the water pools inside the wing to help wick the moisture out.
Clean the hose with a brush? Maybe when you are already servicing the inflator.
The K style inflators found in most wings should last forever just washing and lubricating periodically.
Some people use scotch guard on the nylon fabric or food grade spray silicon to keep it "fresh". It can help but sunlight will fade colors on any gear.

Old wives tales: coca cola as anti bacterial. White wine to kill viruses. Talcum powder for some reason.
