Looking into get a BPW setup for rec diving in South FL ( reefs and lobster hunting ) and looking around for used gear as i have a limited budget found a brand new Transpac XT with a DR Rec XT wing for cheap ( sub 500$ ) .

I see that the DR rec xt is a horse shoe style wing designed for doubles and singles ? is that correct ? i plan to use it with a single steel 100.

is this a good setup to start with for single setup ?

is this too much lift for a warm water rec setup maybe 3mm WS ? for refrence im 5'7 215 low body fat , and sink like a rock in a pool no matter how much air i inhale. Treading water for me in a pool is like a full swim race lol. I usally free dive for lobsters and use 2#-4# sometimes none to stay in the bottom depending what im carrying.

Wow!

Get a dedicated single tank wing for diving single tanks...
i understand , the reason for my question is that DR advertises it as " Rec XT is versatile enough to handle both single and twin backmounted cylinders " so is it not for single cylinders ? or is this like a hybrid design.

located in south florida... WAY cheaper and ready to go!
