Hello,

I'm planning to do a liveaboard trip around Komodo Island, Indonesia, next april. Can anyone give me advise about a good company to do this with? And on top of all, not to expensive.

All advise is welcome.

With kind regards,
Rene Tol - Netherlands (50 dives)

Hi Renetol,

Frankly speaking April is not consider the best time to dive in Komodo, that is the reason why most Liveaboard move to Raja Ampat or other part of Indonesia from November - April.

The reason why most people dive Komodo with Liveaboard is because the dive sites in Komodo are spread out. I dove there with Mermaid last year.

There are few Liveaboard dock in Denpasar Bali but most Liveaboards dock in Labuan Bajo. It means after you arrive in Denpasar you will need to overnight in Bali before fly to Labuan Bajo the next day. At the end of your diving trip you will need to fly back from Labuan Bajo to Bali.

There are several different level Liveaboards diving in Komodo that you can choose. Besides that you may want to consider the length of the Liveaboard trip before you choose which Liveaboard you want to dive with.

If you want send me message and let me know how I can assist you as I work with most Liveaboards here in Indonesia.

Have a Sunny Day

Hey,

Thanx for the information. I already knew April probably isn't the best time to dive Komodo but that is the only time I will be there. I searched a lot on the internet and find out Liveaboards are to expencive for my budget. That's why I'm gonna fly in to Labuan Bajo and do like 5 days of diving from the mainland.

Thanks again!

Kind regards, René Tol

Anytime René Tol,

I understand your consideration regarding the rate with Liveaboard. I found the cheapest one for Liveaboard in Komodo costs USD 170/night.
If you interested in doing some diving in Bali, before or after your trip or even need assistance for your domestic flight tickets reservation just send me PM.

Have a Mantastic Day!! :)

You should check out Blue Marlin Divers on Gili Isalnd, they have a great little liveaboard The Ika Baru that goes to Komodo starting the first part of April and though basic is very comfortable and you will get a lot better diving from it than trying to go land base. We believe it starts at $1.350 PP, Gili Island is really easy to get to and also a nice plce to stay before and after diving, google searcg Blue Marlin Divers Gili Island and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.:D
