Does anyone know how to change the primary media player in Windows XP? I hate Real player and everytime I pop in a CD, that's the one that starts up. I'd rather see Winamp or even WMP. REal always seems to crash my system.

WMP 9.0 - Go to the Tools/Option menu
- On the File Types Tab Select Music CD Playback.
To change to winamp:
Right click on a dead area of the Winamp window, point to Options and select Preferences.
Click "File Types" under "Setup" and hit "select all" and then click "Associate with Audio CDs"
If you do this, Winamp will play all the types of media it knows how, and it will pop up when you put a CD in.
RealPlayer is a viral POS that takes over your computer. I hate it and avoid it whenever possible.

I have winamp 3. There's no "setup" under preferences. I've gone through all the options and still can't find anything that designates it as the primary option. Isn't there anything in the windows control panel?
Double click "Add or Remove Programs" in the control panel, then select "Set Program Access and Defaults" on the left. You can choose Windows Media Player as the default.
I don't like Winamp 3, so I don't know how to change the settings for it.
