Hi,

I just bought an Oceanic VEO180 dive computer and a SeaQuest Balance BC (package deal). Can’t wait to hit the water this weekend! ^_^ The dive computer set came with SPG, VEO180, and space to mount a compass to the console. I’ve seen a number of affordable compass selling on eBay. How do I know whether it’ll fit my console? Are they all having standard size? Am I only limited to Oceanic compass?

Same question for diving knife. Can I just buy any diving knife or do I have to stick with SeaQuest knife? I was afraid to ask the shop owner about buying these stuff online (instead of buying from him). Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you.

Patrick:

The Balance has grommets on the left side that will fit a variety of knives but the best fit IMHO is the Deep See Squeeze Lock which has a 3" long blade.

As far as the console goes, not all compasses will fit it although most will. You should be able to find the Oceanic or Aeris compass that goes there for $40 or less.

I did a quick search and found these:

Option One

Option Two

Option Three

Hope this helps

Thank you very much for your quick search. I was planning to bid on the cheapest one. At my LDS, they sell it for about $65. IMO that's too much for a compass.

Thanks,

Don't bid until the end of the auction, and always bid what you're prepared to spend If you're outbid chances are the item will come up again.

Research the item too... I see tons of people buy from eBay and pay more than what they can get it for from a store.

$65 is Oceanic's price for that item.

Good luck!

Wys.
