my webbing is very stiff

Stiff is the grouse man, let's start with triglides, fold the webbing parallel and slide the glide along both
Give your fingers a workout, but with this system there's not much work, you just have to work it all out

There is the plan man, so go execute it and love it when it all comes together, even that dreaded buckle

Feed the webbing in double then a last quick push to bottom it out, and be done before my photos dry

That top and bottom webbing is weight belt stiff

Yeah good call Happy-Diver. My catch is though, when dealing with trying to move something an inch or so from where it is know, to get it perfect.
but I suppose what you say LEADS me to the answer, so thanks. If it needs to move an inch, take it off all the way and reposition the fold. Is that what you are pointing out?
The only issue I'm still wrapping my head around is that everything between that point and the strap's end needs to come off...and will then need to shift position
so a lot of rinse and repeat needed....

The only thing I use temporary attachments for are trimming weights while I look for their final position.
THAT
is exactly what I'm doing. I don't know for sure if that's where I want this thing to live....

Anyway, yesterday I tied it on with some 550 cord and a clinch knot. It actually turned out to be a very tight, neat, and clean installation. Probably good-enough as is, but yes.... this is only meant to be temporary/semi-permenant for a few dives so that I can get my layout sorted....

Use a 12" strap of double sized 2" velcro (loops one side, hooks the other), and wrap through the slide and around the strap. To keep things from sliding, Thread a 4" piece of velcro through an adjacent glide, and stick both ends between wraps of the long velcro.

If you have to move a thing past another thing, sure. But once it’s in the right… location, scooting the… position a tiny bit shouldn’t be a big exercise; there should be enough slack to loosen, scoot, tighten.

All of this just to avoid having to undo and redo the webbing on the left side? The webbing will have taken a set and can be easily marked if worried with either a silver Sharpie or a white grease pencil. Yes, the left side is the PITA side but this could have been done with and completed two days ago. Just do it, do it the right way. This is a 30 minute job.

If I am carrying my Tekna knife or shears, that goes on the left waist strap and the line cutter then goes on the left shoulder strap. If I am not carrying a knife or shears due to their being forbidden (as is increasingly the case) or just not needed then the line cutter can take that place. I guess, really, the Hog way, is for the cutting tool to be on the left side waist.

For plate and webbing work, I usually schedule that for Saturday evening while watching old, stupid Sci Fi flicks (actually, this past Saturday, I watched Run Down with the Rock while adjusting a BP/wing) and that after having consumed copious amounts of wine and a gummy or two. Usually this combination of a stupid movie, wine and THC is sufficiently mind numbing to dull the pain. Sometimes when I wake up I find things a little off but there is always next Saturday evening to once again get creative . And :coffee: the following morning while surveying the results of the evening, priceless.

Pro tip. If you have old Sea Hunt episodes I find that those will put me to sleep before I am finished leaving me to finish the following morning. The monotone droning narrative is hypnotic, better than white noise.
