Well I don't have immediate access to a lathe but that doesn't mean its ruled out, but I can say that turning an aspheric is beyond me.

Can I get the performance we're talking about with a P7 without an aspheric lens? I have found a p7 and a reflector that would fit into a MAG head with some fitting.

The MAG light option is nice because I know I have several around here collecting dust. (That I can't find right now because I may actually have a use for them!)

Well I sure hadn't thought of that. I thought the lens would be a harder material, but acrylic is do-able. Judging from what I've read, the hardest will require mostly patience, and some voodoo, in focusing the beams properly. Is that correct?
Do you find the 3 modes useful? (100%/30%/10% or so?)
