I am planning a four-day dive trip next weekend to key largo and would like to get in as many dives as I can. But I don’t want to over do it. I have a plan to get 15 dives in using the following sequence and wanted some thoughts about whether it is too much.

Day 1 three dives

1. 25 feet
2. 25 feet
3. 25 feet (night)

Day 2 five dives

1. 100 feet
2. 45 feet
3. 25 feet
4. 25 feet
5. 25 feet (night)

Day 3 five dives

1. 45 feet
2. 25 feet
3. 25 feet
4. 25 feet
5. 25 feet (night)

Day 4 two dives

1. 100 feet
2. 25 feet

imo that's fine as long as it works with what other divers are doing (if diving with others). but you might want to consider doing a nitrox cert in the future (or even during your trip if opportunity presents) so that you can get more bottom time in or shorter surface intervals for those dives. nitrox is ideal for multiple shallow dives like that.

Those 5 dive day are SOP for many in Bonaire. If you can get the logistics to work then go for it. There is little time left for glitches but if you need to skip the 4th dive to be ready for the night dive so be it.

Arrive well rested, eat and hydrate well, forget about partying and adjust as needed.

My limited experience, mostly diving Key Largo (so far, my favorite dive spot) is that the dives will be a relatively deep dive followed by a shallow reef dive with a short SI. I just wonder how you are going to get them to do that many consecutive shallow dives considering, I would think, that most of the other divers on the boat probably wouldn't agree with this scenario, unless, of course, you are chartering the boat for yourself (yourselves) only. Personally, I like the shallow reef dives since the sunlight gets through better and you can see more colors and lots more fishies and stuff. If you can arrange it take a night dive on Snapper Reef. Unbelievable amount of night wildlife out there.

I'm at Key Largo right now trying to do four dives a day. Weather isn't cooperating. Seas are at 3-4 feet and everyone is cancelling. Rain isn't helping. Bunch of wimps.

Your schedule will require three trip to the reefs each day. It's about 30-45 minutes EACH way. That's a lot of time bouncing around. On days that I do 4 dives, I'm real tired in the evening. It's not the diving, it's the trip out and back.

Also night dives are a rarity. If you want to do them, talk it over with your dive op beforehand.

I have dove with Quiescence for years. All boats are six passengers max. Service and safety are excellent.

The only time that I can do 5 dives a day is on a liveaboard.

Also nitrox is an excellent suggestion to keep the nitrogen down.

Are those depths, as in you're planning a dive to 1.25 feet, which means you're going to be 15 inches underwater?

Looks good to me....I'd try to squeeze in 2-3 more on day 4 though.:D

All depends on dive time, SI, air/nitrox%....

WebMonkey: If that is a serious question you should be stripped of you staff status and bannished to Chillicothe, Missouri.

Absolutely serious.

Am I missing something here?
