I only dive for pleasure. Diving is my main hobby and I enjoy every aspect of it. I can have as much "fun" on a 6m bimble as on a 60+m trimix dive. I got into "technical diving" because there were dives I wanted to do that were pushing my comfort zone as "recreational dives". This is best illustrated by one of my favourite dives: the Zenobia in Cyprus. I first dived this 10 years ago wreck on a single cylinder as an AOW diver not going deeper than 30 m. Six years ago I did a penetration dive to the engine room on air and was so narced that I barely remember the dive! After that I decided if I was going to do that kind of dive I needed much more training and experience. I now dive the Zenobia with a twinset on trimix usually with a bottom time of 40+minutes (my first Zen dive was a total of 27min including the safety stop) I have much more "fun" and see and remeber much more.

Technical divers are often accused of not having any fun. If you could only choose one dive to tell about how much fun you had as a diver, what would it be? Was it at the recreational or technical level? How did your tech training add to the fun of the dive?

My favorite dive of all time was on yucab reef in Cozumel with my girlfriend Jackey. There was very little current. Jackey and I were able to slow down and admire the reef life in detail, stealing underwater kisses every now and then.

Tech diving has made me a better photographer since I can precisely control my positioning without a lot of arm flapping. Now I've just got to get a better camera....
