My girl friend just passed her PADI OW, they told her it would be a couple weeks to get her C Card. How long does it realy take?

A couple of weeks is usually the quickest you'll get a card.

It really depends on when they submit for it.

It can take anywhere from one to three weeks. They usually give you a cardboard temporary card to use for fills, etc. until you receive the permanent one.

took me about two months for OW and AOW

for some reason, my Rescue card took almost four months and lots of
calls to the dive shop

My NAUI OW took about a week to get.

I'm still waiting for my Nitrox c-card for about a month now... is it instructor dependent, agency or they just like to keep you waiting?

I waited about 30 years too long. Once I took the course I had my permanent PDIC card in 3-4 weeks. Meanwhile I had a temp card.

It can take longer than usual this time of year, as it's the busy season for Padi with so many :newbie:s preparing for summer diving.

I spoke with my dive shop the other day, and my Rescue card application has been off for over 3 weeks, but then - I requested special handling from a Supervisor so I can have the Rescue/Nitrox card, so it'll take longer to clear her desk.

Since I live in Tampa and since the NAUI headquarters is in Tampa, I got my OW and Nitrox cards in less than a day.

My wife and I finished our PADI OW certs in Cozumel. Shop took our pics and information the following day, and we had our cards with-in two weeks. I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression they were submitted on-line. Maybe someone from a shop or agency can correct me if I'm wrong. If they weren't submitted on-line, and given the state of the postal system in Mexico, and the delivery times we experience here in Alaska, it was nothing short of a miracle.
