Yeah that has been the gist of my findings: the edge frays away and the sealing surface immediately on either side of the little tiny chain teeth in the inside tends to rub away.
Its good we are such a huge market otherwise it would not be financially viable to R&D some improvements in materials or finish techniques[/sar-chasm]
