This will be our first trip to the Caymans, and we probably won't have another opportunity for a dive trip for the next year or so, so we want to make it count. I'm willing to take some risk with the weather, but want the odds more or less on my side.

Opinions of October for such a trip? Thanks!

I have taken a dive trip the last week in Oct the past couple years and had great weather. It still considered the high season, so you can take advantage of the lower prices for lodging, but late enough in the hurricane season that chances of losing dives due to weather are greatly reduced from Aug-Sept. I went to GCM last year and dove the East end with Ocean Frontiers. Going to Coz the same week this year.
