I am curious how far people will go to dive their "usual" local dive spot. While some of us live near the coast, others rely on lakes, quarries, or rivers. Still others don't bother until they go on vacation.

My stats are: 12 miles / Reef Point-Crystal Cove, Southern California

I am guessing some of you will be reporting distance by the foot....:D

Thirty minute drive out of traffic, up to an hour and a half in it -- "The Office" and the Edmonds Underwater Park are that distance from me.

Provided I picked up my tanks the day before, it's about 30 minutes to either Aquarena Springs in San Marcos or Lake Travis just outside of Austin.

Ed

30 miles to the airport
9 hours on a plane
13 miles to my condo in Kona
2 miles to my favorite splash once I am there
I really gotta make the permanent move!

Soon I will start diving some of the wrecks off Ocean City MD and North Carolina
Those are all 3-6 hours away.

15 miles to the quarry, but mostly go 80 miles to the lake.

250 miles to the cold lake and 550 miles to Florida. 250 miles is the closest site.

About 100 miles to a good quarry. 40 to a mediocre one.

I usually go to the good one.
