Alright, this summer I became a scooterholic. The Sea-Doo scooters are a hoot. Locally, I use them spearfishing for walleye in our inland lake. Then I went to La Paz a couple of months ago and there were several (6 or 7) divers that had brought their scooters on the plane.

They tried to describe the case they'd found that would haul the somewhat fragile scooters both on the plane and on through airport baggage handlers, but I haven't found anything yet.

Is there anyone out there that has found a suitable hard case that knows of a case or piece of luggage that can accomodate the Sea-Doo scooter and get it back in one piece?

A Pelican 1660. There's even room for some accessories. It's 29x20x17 inside. Has a handle and wheels. Probably cost as much or more than the scooter though.

I'll second the Pelican. Another idea: If available, rent a scooter after you arrive at your destination.

A 1660 would def do it...but be aware....the case itself is HALF the allowed weight and when I used to use one....I was often charged overweight charges and scuba gear charges....Not to mention TSA went nuts cutting off locks all the time. Just became too big a hassle.

Might consider FEDEXing or some other style of delivery.
